Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! Spotlight on Springwell Mom: Raquel Pichardo
Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!
This month, we are excited to spotlight Raquel Pichardo: Proud Dominican-American, communications professional, lover of multicultural experiences and a Springwell mom!
About Raquel
Hola! Raquel Pichardo is a Dominican Republic-born, American-raised, wife, mom and communications professional living in Takoma Park. Raquel grew up with the richness of two cultures – experiencing the American culture all around her, while being enveloped by the liveliness of her Dominican heritage at home and with her (very large) extended family! She says it’s a special and unique thing to know what life is like from a multicultural perspective, and something they strive to provide to their children. The family’s oldest, Thomas, was born in London, and the family recently returned from a year-long adventure in Berlin, Germany! Julian, Raquel’s Springwell student, took to the language, biking, and riding the U-Bahn like a pro!
What Raquel Does for Work:
Raquel is an independent strategic communications consultant with a special focus on clean energy and sustainable finance. She essentially helps her clients tell their stories to the people who need to hear them, always with a focus on how their activities are good for the earth and good for our shared, global society. It’s important for Raquel that her clients are as passionate about supporting a clean energy transition as she is!
Why Raquel Loves Springwell:
Springwell brings together so many of the values Raquel and her husband hold dear, from its willingness to explore non-western traditions to teaching the students how to care for the earth and those around them. They feel very lucky to be a part of this community!
¡Gracias por la oportunidad de compartir con ustedes sobre mi familia y yo!
Happy Hispanic Heritage Month to all!
